Hitting the road over the weekend for summer vacation or World Cup events? You’ll be paying an average 10 cents more a gallon in Florida to fill up the tank. The Tampa Bay Rays provided the first look inside the planned new $2.3 billion Tampa ballpark that would open in 2029, and it is eye-catching. What stand out most are views of the sky through the transparent fixed roof, with renderings showing fans watching the game while airplanes fly and lightning flashes overhead. The idea is to create an indoor/outdoor ballpark experience, and the Rays feel they have done so using state-of-the-art ETFE material and proprietary technology in the first-of-its-kind roof design. EverBank renews downtown Jacksonville lease, ending exit speculation

EverBank, one of Jacksonville’s largest commercial residents, has renewed its downtown lease. It brings about an abrupt end to the mystery that swept the city after the financial institution began exploring whether to exit downtown. “I can confirm that we have renewed our lease for space at our headquarters building on West Bay Street,” Michael Cosgrove, senior vice president of corporate communications, said in an email. “We don’t have any additional comment on the lease.” More from Jacksonville Today and the Jacksonville Business Journal.

A chocolatier that’s been around since the 1600s is now expanding in Florida

A chocolatier founded in the 1600s and once named the confectioner of the French empire has expanded in Florida. Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier, which has a location in Palm Beach and is planning another one in Boca Raton, just opened in a sprawling shopping complex off Interstate 75 on the state’s Gulf Coast. Bissinger’s is on the first floor of The Mall at University Town Center, on the Bradenton and Sarasota border.
