Stetson University is pleased to announce that Lila A. Jaber began her term as Chair of the University's Board of Trustees effective July 1, 2026. Jaber's Tallahassee-based firm, LilaJaber Consulting, provides strategic regulatory and governmental affairs counsel to national clients operating in Florida and the Southeast. Jaber also serves on the board of Chesapeake Utilities Corporation, and she is the founder of Florida's Women in Energy Leadership Forum. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Stetson University and her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. She was appointed to Stetson's Board of Trustees in 2019.

Patrick Downes has been named president of BayCare Hospital Manatee, the health system's 17th hospital, scheduled to open in Palmetto in 2028. He will also continue serving as president of St. Joseph's Hospital-South in Riverview, a role he has held since 2023. He earned an MBA and a bachelor's in business administration from Florida State University.

Mitchell Morris has been named Board Chair of Jewish Community Services of South Florida. A dedicated board member for more than eight years, he previously served as Vice Chair, Treasurer and Audit Committee Chair. Morris is Vice President of Internal Audit at Restaurant Brands International and brings extensive leadership, finance and governance expertise to the role.
