»High-rise developer Ugo Colombo has purchased the 21,000- sq.-ft. Carl Fisher estate in Miami Beach for more than $25 million, according to reports. The home was built in 1927 by Carl Fisher, who developed much of Miami Beach.

»Retired Miami-Dade Fire-Rescue worker Glenn Patton of Key Largo has been appointed by Gov. Jeb Bush to serve on the Monroe County Commission, filling the vacancy after Murray Nelson died in April.
