Mark Howard

Mark Howard has been executive editor of Florida Trend since 1998. He grew up in and was graduated from high school in Jacksonville. He is a graduate of Duke University and has a master's degree in public administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Before joining Florida Trend in 1996, Mark worked for the Nashville Banner, the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Newsday on Long Island, and the Sarasota Herald Tribune, where he was executive business editor and city editor. In the early 1980s, he worked for the Tennessee State Department of Education during the administration of Gov. Lamar Alexander and was recognized for his contribution to part of Alexander's education reform effort. Mark is a member of Class XVII of Leadership Florida.
