MINORITY BUSINESSES
THE BIGGEST — Eleven Florida businesses are among the 275 biggest black-owned companies nationwide, according to Black Enterprise magazine. Orlando-based Boyland Auto Group ranks No. 4 among auto dealers; Coral Gables-based Peebles Corp. ranks No. 13 among industrial/service companies; and ZeroChaos, also based in Orlando, is No. 14 among industrial/service firms.

BRANDING
SELLING SUNSHINE — Florida is one of the most famous brands in the world, according to a survey of attitudes about U.S. states by The Anholt Brands Index. The survey covered 9,000 Americans and 12,000 foreigners. In response to the question “Where do you want to live?” Americans picked North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Colorado and Oregon, in that order. Foreigners picked California, Florida, Hawaii, New York and Washington.

Gatorland is adding more than 70 animals -- including a 15-foot American crocodile known as Bonecrusher II -- to the attraction after purchasing the creatures from the recently closed Everglades Wonder Gardens in Bonita Springs.
