Poker Isn't Gambling?

Poker isn’t gambling; it’s a game of skill. That’s the theory behind the Skill Game Protection Act, a bill introduced by U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler (D-Fla.) that would exempt poker and skill games like bridge and chess from an internet gambling ban passed by Congress last year. In addition to lobbying on the bill’s behalf, poker players and others in the industry weighed in with more than $50,000 in contributions to Wexler’s re-election campaign fund in the third quarter.
