Event: Old Florida Celebration of the Arts

Cedar Key Art Festival

The tiny Gulf coast island of Cedar Key has brought back its spring fine art show. The “Old Florida Celebration of the Arts,” a juried show with $20,000 in awards, is scheduled for April 12-13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On display: Fine art, painting, sculptures, jewelry, photography, ceramics and other work from around the eastern U.S. For more information, go to cedarkeyartsfestival.com.

As the sky darkens and the lights come on at the Kresge House, people start walking though a maze of Christmas displays. Thirty eight years ago Ted Kresge began it all with it all with a few stings of lights. Today it has grown to about 500,000 lights.
