Dream Products makes drinks that help you sleep better

| 6/6/2012

Dream Products
Having trouble sleeping? The latest trend in self-treatment is drinks made with natural ingredients designed to help you sleep better. It’s been a successful market for Miami-based Dream Products, whose DreamWater has gone from test run to distribution in more than 25,000 locations in just over two years.

Founder Vincent Porpiglia had the DreamWater formula created at a contract lab in 2007, but funding from friends allowed him to do only a test production and sales run. Then, in 2009, while visiting an uninterested investor in New York, Porpiglia met David Lekach, a Miami native whose family founded retailer Perfumania. Lekach, a former investment banker, invested in the business and became CEO. He also brought in two other partners: His brother Joseph Lekach and childhood friend Adam Platzner. After that, sales took off rapidly, reaching $2 million in 2010 and around $6 million in 2011. It’s distributed in Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, airport retailers and other chains.
