» Julian “Hickory” Fant Jr., chairman of First Guaranty Bank since 1971, passed the title to his son, Julian “Jay” Fant III. Jay Fant had been the bank’s president and CEO since 2003. Hickory Fant, whose father, Julian Fant, founded the bank in 1947, will stay on as chairman emeritus. The bank also named Don Roberts president and Kevin Cannon executive vice president.
» The University of Florida Alumni Association named Leland Patouillet, associate vice chancellor for alumni relations and executive director of the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association, executive director. Patouillet replaces Randy Talbot, now senior vice president for university advancement and alumni relations at Florida Atlantic University.
» Tom Cothron, who operates the Farm Bureau Insurance Agency in Ocala, has been elected president of the Florida Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
