» Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio has accepted a position as visiting distinguished service professor at Florida International University’s Metropolitan Center, which provides research, policy and technical support to the public and private sectors with a focus on urban issues.

» Former U.S. ambassador to Bolivia V. Manuel Rocha has been named director of government relations/Latin America for Arcos Dorados, a consortium of companies that owns 1,800 McDonald’s restaurants in 21 countries.

» Bacardi, the world’s largest spirits company, has named Colgate-Palmolive veteran Seamus McBride president and CEO. Bacardi’s U.S. headquarters is in Miami.
