While some musicians and artists are easily typecast into clean-cut roles, Reema Schonbeck has been forced to blaze her own trails in crafting her musical styles and career.
As a Middle Eastern and Brazilian woman, Schonbeck has faced headwinds in entering a primarily male-drive industry but has found success as a singer and owner of a production company, Noire Productions. On May 1, she will perform with her partner as Nik & Reema at Judson’s Live, an intimate venue for dining, drinking and listening at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
After moving to Europe to work on productions for Warner Music Group and Universal Music Group, Schonbeck was drawn back to Orlando where she began to find small gigs but had trouble getting traction.
