» Capt. Christopher W. Plummer has assumed command of Pensacola Naval Air Station. He was deputy director of the Chief of Naval Operations executive panel in Washington, D.C.

» Fort Walton Beach attorney Matt Gaetz was elected to fill the District 4 seat in the state House of Representatives in a special election April 13, defeating Democrat Jan Fernald. Gaetz, the son of state Sen. Don Gaetz, replaces former representative and House Speaker Ray Sansom, who resigned in February.

» Patrick Slevin has been named senior vice president and general manager of the Tallahassee office of Hill & Knowlton, a New York-based international communications consultancy. Slevin previously led his own Tallahassee-based public relations consulting practice.
