Florida has made "significant gains" in narrowing gender pay gap

Wednesday is International Women's Day. One hot topic for years has been the pay women received compared to their male counterparts. New numbers show that the gender pay gap hasn't changed much in two decades. Pew Research numbers show women in the U.S. states are not expected to achieve equal pay until 2059. Florida ranks 19th in the nation for pay equality with an average gender wage gap of $9,240. More from CBS Miami.

The grocery stores keep coming. Aldi and Publix continue to expand across Florida. And so does Sprouts, which bills itself as a farmers market but has all the ingredients of a grocery store. Spring Breakers in Central Florida will boost economy, but at a cost

Visit Orlando defines Spring Break for the Orlando travel period as a two week period around Easter Sunday. According to Maria Henson, Head of research at Visit Orlando, Spring Break is typically the peak travel season for Orlando with almost one million overnight visitors generating more than $1 billion in visitor spending. Relativity Space queues up 1st ever launch of its 3D-printed rocket from Cape Canaveral

Another new rocket company is set to make its first launch from the Space Coast as Relativity Space aims for liftoff of the 3D-printed Terran 1 on Wednesday afternoon. The Long Beach, California-based startup company looks to join the ranks of SpaceX and United Launch Alliance offering launch services from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station with a planned liftoff from Launch Complex 16 during a 1-4 p.m. window. Tampa International is the first US airport to partner with Uber Eats

Tampa International Airport is partnering with Uber Eats for mobile ordering. Uber Eats will offer the airport’s “TPA to Go” program on their app for passengers and visitors to order food and drinks through their phone. Tampa is the first airport in the U.S. to partner with Uber Eats, according to a news release. More from the Tampa Bay Times.

Florida Strawberry Festival approaching pre-pandemic crowds

As we head into the second week of the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, early reports show crowds returning to near pre-pandemic levels for the state’s most-attended fair in one of its smallest towns. With a population of 35,000, the northeast Hillsborough County farming community can see as many as 50,000 people per day streaming in along Interstate 4 to fill up on shortcake and take in one of the best music lineups in the industry. More than 2,500 volunteers are on hand to keep it that way.
