› Luxe touches add shine to Disney’s newest cruise ship
The Disney Wish, the cruise line’s first new ship in 10 years, has upped the ante on what is already considered a luxury brand. For more than $25,000, guests can live like royalty in two-story suites with a spiral staircase and a hot tub on the verandah. There’s also an expansive spa and a $5,000 drink “experience” in the adult Star Wars bar. These are among the many new luxe features aboard the Disney Wish, which set sail from Port Canaveral in mid-July for three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas.

› Baptist Health names new president of Wolfson Children’s Hospital
The leader of a children’s hospital in New York will be the next president of Wolfson Children’s Hospital of Jacksonville, Baptist Health announced Oct. 7. Starting in January, Allegra Jaros will succeed the retired Michael Aubin, who served as president from January 2011 to Oct. 3. Since 2014, Jaros has been president of John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York, a regional pediatric referral center for trauma, surgical and medical care.

› Is Carnival ready for Afrofusion? Burna Boy headlines Caribbean music festival in Miami
Burna Boy always seemed destined to play a Carnival. Just take a look at the first two minutes of the “It’s Plenty” music video. Or footage from the most recent Notting Hill Carnival. Or almost any interview from the past three years. “The reason for everything I do and how I do it is for one goal and one goal only, and that’s the eventual unity of Africa,” the Nigerian superstar told GQ in 2020.

› Clearwater’s referendum on the $400M bluff project: What voters need to know.
On Nov. 8, Clearwater voters will decide whether the city can sell two downtown bluff parcels to Gotham Property Acquisitions and The DeNunzio Group so the developers can build a $400 million hotel, apartment and retail project. The parcels border the 22-acre city-owned waterfront, which is undergoing an $84 million renovation to bring a 4,000-seat covered amphitheater, garden, playground, green space and plaza to Coachman Park. The park, estimated to be completed in June, will move forward no matter the outcome of the referendum.
