» Scott A. Cihak, COO at HCA’s Westside Regional Medical Center in Plantation, was named CEO of 250-bed Columbia Hospital in West Palm Beach.

» Max Planck Florida Institute hired Ivan C. Baines as chief scientific facilities officer. He was one of six directors and the scientific coordinator of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany.

» Vero Beach-based Seald Sweet International hired Gary J. Collins as CFO, replacing Vitor Figueiredo, who was promoted to managing director of Univeg Portugal by parent company Belgium-based Univeg Group.

» Piper Aircraft CEO Kevin Gould quit after just one year. Geoffrey Berger, managing director of parent Imprimis’ Brunei operations, became interim CEO of the Vero Beach company.
