‘Project Sunrise’ lays out road map for Florida’s economic future

Naeem Khan plan for fashion studio, school under microscope

The Miami River Commission is expected to review a redesigned fashion studio and school on riverfront land owned by Miami-Dade County when it meets May 6. New York fashion designer Naeem Khan plans to build a studio for design and manufacture at a county-owned site under his long-term lease with Miami-Dade County. More from Miami Today.

TV show produced by Leo DiCaprio, 'Right Stuff,' will film in Brevard

"The Right Stuff," a new television series adapted from Tom Wolfe's iconic account of the early days of the U.S. space program, will start filming this fall on the Space Coast. Leonardo DiCaprio will be one of the executive producers of "The Right Stuff." Appian Way Productions, a film and television production company founded by DiCaprio, is collaborating on the project with National Geographic Partners LLC and Warner Horizon Scripted Television. New food hall planned for downtown Orlando's Church Street

A new food hall is planned for downtown Orlando’s Church Street entertainment district, according to documents filed with the City of Orlando. Plans and renderings were submitted for a project called “Church Street Food Hall” in the building west of the railroad tracks on Church Street. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

Rise of the Rest Tour

 Revolution recently announced its next five-day Rise of the Rest bus tour, to highlight startup success outside of Silicon Valley, will visit multiple cities in Florida including Orlando, Tampa Bay, Miami and the Space Coast, a set of counties on Florida’s east coast. The tour will end the week with a visit to Puerto Rico to explore innovation and entrepreneurship with Chef José Andrés in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

Tampa airport to allow non-fliers to try its airside cuisine

floridaWhen Tampa International Airport brought in 70 new restaurants, bars, shops and spas as part of its billion-dollar makeover, it went looking for distinctive local brands: Mise en Place, Goody Goody, RumFish Grill, Ducky's. "The problem was, the people who were really excited about it said, 'Hey, wait a minute: I can't go out the airside to try out that restaurant. What's up with that?' " Tampa International Airport chief executive officer Joe Lopano said.
