4 more unvaccinated kids diagnosed with measles in Florida

Through additional investigations, the Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County on Wednesday announced that it has identified four additional cases of measles in unvaccinated people since the first case was announced on Aug. 13. Hurricane forecasters watching eastern Atlantic; tropical development possible over the weekend

Florida Hospital strikes naming-rights deal with NFL team

Florida Hospital and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers unveiled a new name and logo for the NFL team’s training facility and business offices, which will be known as AdventHealth Training Center. The 10-year naming-rights deal adds to an agreement struck six years ago that made Florida Hospital the exclusive hospital partner of the Buccaneers. More from the Business Observer.

St. Petersburg’s Pier playground to be ‘one of a kind’

 The city will spend $1 million for what officials are calling an out-of-this-world playground for the $76 million Pier District. The more than 12,000-square-foot amenity will feature wood and other natural materials and children will clamber onto make-believe aquatic animals and a whimsical interpretation of the Benoist airboat flown by legendary pilot Tony Jannus.
