Amazon Adds Second Fulfillment Center and 1,000 Jobs in Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE – Six months after announcing plans to build its first fulfillment center in northeast Florida, Amazon has confirmed the addition of a second center in the region. The new 1-million-sq.-ft. facility will add 1,000 full-time jobs, bringing Amazon’s employment footprint in Jacksonville to 2,500. Employees here will pick, pack and ship large items, such as household décor, sporting equipment and gardening tools.

During the past three years, Amazon has sited four fulfillment centers, two sortation centers and Prime Now hubs in Miami, Tampa and Orlando.

We’re excited to further expand our presence in the state with this new fulfillment center in Jacksonville. Florida has been an ideal location to help enable superfast shipping speeds to customers and a source of exceptional talent for Amazon. We’re proud to be creating great jobs with benefits for Floridians.
