› New Cuba talks may speed work of Tampa-based storm trackers
Storm trackers dash by plane from Tampa to measure the track and intensity of tropical activity, but their work often is slowed by the red tape required to fly over Cuba. That may be changing with the normalization of relations between Cuba and the United States.

› Aventura-based Benihana names new CEO
The board of directors of Aventura-based Benihana Inc. named Thomas J. Baldwin CEO and president of the company, effective immediately. He succeeds Steven Shlemon, who was the company's CEO since February 2014.

› Florida’s barbers, cosmetologists face stricter oversight than gun dealers
Unlike 13 states that license gun dealers, Florida’s firearms retailers have no state oversight. Dealer licensing and monitoring falls under the watch of the federal Bureau of Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

› Florida may have a new invasive species to worry about
Capybaras, giant rodents from South America, are sometimes kept as pets. But some animals have escaped their owners, or been set free, and they may have established a breeding population in Florida.
