New rules for financial advisers prohibit conflicts of interest

Financial advisers will be required to recommend investments that are in their clients' best interests — and not just the ones that yield the biggest commissions — under long-awaited "fiduciary standard" rules being rolled out by the Obama administration today. The rules aim to end potential conflicts of interest by brokers who advise on individual retirement accounts and to protect consumers from buying unnecessary investment products. Analysts say Disney likely to consider outsider for CEO
