› Florida teachers union says it will drop voucher lawsuit
Florida's union that represents teachers says it is dropping a lawsuit aimed at blocking an expansion of the state's main private school voucher program. Chief Circuit Judge Charles Francis in late December tossed the lawsuit. The judge ruled those who filed the lawsuit didn't show how the expansion would harm them.
› Manatee beekeeper helps farmers around the state pollinate crops
The millions of bees that Cristian Oslobanu raises at Beerom Apiaries Inc. help farmers across Florida and as far afield as California to pollinate crops. He sent 100 hives to Palm Beach County on Wednesday to help pollinate squash plants and in a few weeks, will be sending a semi-tractor load of bee hives to California.
› Liquefied natural gas plant proposed in Titusville
Florida East Coast Industries wants to build a $250 million liquefied natural gas production and distribution plant on undeveloped land it owns west of U.S. 1 in Titusville — a project the company says would be the first of its kind in Florida.
› Need to chill out? New Florida cruise ship has snow room
Floridians seeking winter-like temperatures might want to consider a cruise to the Caribbean. A new Norwegian Cruise Line ship that will be based in Miami features a snow room. It's the first time the cruise line has offered the feature.
