Tesla Motors Inc. Co-founder Elon Musk is reportedly in talks to team with Greg Wyler, a former Google Inc. executive and the founder of satellite maker O3b Networks Ltd., to build a network of lightweight satellites that would provide global Internet access.

› Woman-owned tech firm in Ybor beats the venture capital odds
Ybor City-based gr8code is expected to receive $5.4 million in venture capital over the next four years. The funding from OmniElite Financial Group is believed to be the largest venture investment ever awarded to a woman-owned business in Florida.

› Students embrace environmental education
Northwest Florida State College’s Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) and AmeriCorps program kicked off the Grasses in Classes program at 20 elementary schools in Okaloosa and Walton counties.

› Miami-based HealthCare.com lands $7.5M in funding
HealthCare.com landed $7.5 million in funding, the company announced Tuesday. The Miami-based health insurance comparison website will use the Series A financing to build its services, technology and reach.
