› South Florida real estate fares poorly in ranking
South Florida ranks near the bottom in a new listing of real estate recoveries across the country. Homes.com calculated metropolitan areas’ rebound in home prices when compared to past peaks, before the housing bubble popped and values crashed.

› Spirit profit climbs 22 percent in second quarter
Spirit Airlines' net income in the second quarter rose 22 percent to $42.1 million or 58 cents per share, the Miramar-based low-cost carrier reported Wednesday. That's up from $34.6 million or 48 cents in the year-ago period.

› Worker shortage? Jobless vets? Why not let one solve the other?
Southwest Florida homebuilders believe they have found an answer to a local worker shortage that is threatening the region's construction recovery: Military veterans.

› Busch Gardens in Tampa to close two popular restaurants
Citing slow business, Busch Gardens is closing its popular Crown Colony and Garden Gate restaurants during a traditionally busy time of year for theme parks. Busch Gardens officials confirmed the closures today but didn't give an exact closing date.
