State university presidents’ five-year contracts typically include health and life insurance, state employee retirement plan contributions, travel expenses for spouses outside university service areas and a paid sabbatical if they resign from the presidency and remain at the school.

Bonuses: Performance stipend of up to $175,000
Other compensation: Deferred compensation of 12% of base salary
Other benefits: Retention stipend at rate of $100,000 annually upon completion of contract (2016); car; membership in Tampa Palms Country Club and University Club; tenured professorship; required to live in president’s house

Bonuses: Undefined lump sum incentive at board’s discretion
