› Financing for new Rays stadium equal on both sides of Tampa Bay
Potential financing for a new baseball stadium is about equal on both sides of Tampa Bay, a chamber of commerce study group announced Monday in a new report. The Bay Area Baseball Finance Summary says that about $350-million would be available from a number of sources in either county.
› FPL says rate deal would allow Florida to be more competitive with other states
more competitive with utilities in other states under a proposed base rate increase settlement, an FPL official said Monday. Renae Deaton, FPL’s senior manager of rate design, was among the first witnesses as the Florida Public Service Commission began hearing testimony in the proposed settlement.
› New state committee to help implement health care law
A new panel of senators will be appointed to deal with the state's implementation of President Barack Obama's health care law. Incoming Senate President Don Gaetz, who will be sworn in this morning, announced the committee Monday in a memo to lawmakers without further comment.
