» BankAtlantic appointed Ken Binger to the new position of president of business banking. Binger had been president of BankAtlantic's Palm Beach branches. The bank also named Charles Mohr, an executive with the bank, president of retail banking.
» Kathryn Schmidt will resign in November as president and CEO of Workforce Alliance for Palm Beach County, citing family needs. Executive Vice President Steve Craig becomes interim president.
» The Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute of Florida in Port St. Lucie chose Mel Rothberg as its COO. Rothberg, co-chair of BioFlorida's southeast chapter, has been an executive in the medical device, information technology, bio-pharmaceutical and healthcare industries. He begins as deputy COO and will become COO July 1.
