Florida's Top Pool Builders

Most of the top-grossing pool builders in the U.S. are based in the West and Southwest, according to the industry magazine Pool & Spa News. Florida's builders tend to be small family businesses. But four of them place among the top 50 in the nation. Here they are:

Headquarters: Melbourne
2002 gross revenue: $10 million
Pools built in 2002: 325
Average price: $27,500

Headquarters: South Daytona
2002 gross revenue: $8.9 million
Pools built in 2002: N/A
Average price: $41,700

Southern Pool Designs
Headquarters: Longwood
2002 gross revenue: $6.8 million
Pools built in 2002: 225
Average price: $28,922
