Developer Pedro Martin of the Terra Group has donated downtown Miami's landmark Freedom Tower to Miami Dade College, ending years of uncertainty over the 80-year-old building. Built to house the former Miami Daily News, the tower became a powerful iconic symbol for immigrant groups after serving as a processing center for hundreds of thousands of Cuban exiles in the 1960s.
