Ursula Boll
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Hawk's Cay Resort & Marina
Duck Key

Boll has taken a leading role in fighting for affordable housing and transportation for workers of the resort, which is located in the middle of the Keys between Islamorada and Marathon.

About 60% of hospitality workers in the Keys say they plan to leave in the next five years because of high housing costs, according to a Monroe County study conducted in 2006.

Hawk's Cay, which employs 350 to 450 depending on the season, provides on-site housing for about 120 of its hourly workers and interns. The company also operates a shuttle bus and van service to pick up others who commute to work.
