A Decade of Growth

A System Poised for the Future

A private, not-for-profit healthcare system, Orlando Health has remained committed throughout its 100-year history to delivering exceptional care to the communities it serves. That commitment has accelerated over the past decade, expanding the organization’s reach across Central Florida, from the Gulf Coast to the Atlantic Coast and now into Central Alabama through the Baptist Health brand. This strategic growth also includes assets in Puerto Rico and an expanding presence along Florida’s East Coast, where Orlando Health acquired hospitals and physician practices in 2024.

Momentum is especially evident along the southern corridor of Interstate 4, stretching from Lakeland into the Tampa-St. Petersburg area. Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital adds to its services with the opening of Institute Square, which marks another significant investment in St. Petersburg. The system’s presence across the region was further strengthened with the addition of Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health in 2023.

Significant new hospital construction also is underway in this region. Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital is taking shape in Lakeland, bringing expanded services to one of Central Florida’s fastest-growing communities. And in Pasco County, Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital will meet a rising demand across the northern Tampa Bay market. Both facilities are slated to open in 2026. As the healthcare system grows, Orlando Health continues to earn national recognition for its quality and safety. Recent U.S. News & World Report rankings placed Orlando Health programs among the nation’s Top 50 in multiple adult and pediatric specialties.

Several facilities have received consecutive “A” Safety Grades from the patient-safety advocates at The Leapfrog Group. Orlando Health South Lake Hospital, for example, has claimed 15 straight As. And, in December 2025, three Orlando Health facilities — Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies, and Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute — were named Top Hospitals by the safety advocacy group, reinforcing excellence across diverse clinical areas.

A strong workforce culture makes this impressive performance possible. With more than 41,000 team members and nearly 6,000 physicians, Orlando Health is recognized locally and nationally as a workplace of choice, including as a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2024 and 2025 — an honor awarded to only 100 employers out of nearly 2.8 million profiles. This focus on engagement, retention and development further strengthens the organization’s ability to deliver high-quality care as it grows. Looking ahead, Orlando Health continues to invest in building modern, patient-focused facilities across the Southeast, positioning the system well for the future as it elevates quality and carries forward the mission that has guided it for more than a century.

Orlando Health does a great job of providing us with the facilities and the resources we need to make sure patients have both great outcomes and great experiences. — MICHAEL V. JABLONSKI, MD | SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, ORLANDO HEALTH
