University of Florida Health will provide medical care to Team USA athletes during the Milano-Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games as part of an extended agreement with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. UF Health will be one of four national medical centers that will provide care for Team USA Athletes.

Dun & Bradstreet of Jacksonville is now a private company. It was purchased by Santa Monica, California-based Clearlake Capital Group in a $7.7-billion deal. Dun & Bradstreet stockholders received $9.15 in cash for each share of common stock. The company’s stock stopped trading and was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange.

Stephen Tulenko became the company’s CEO in September, succeeding Anthony Jabbour.

Dun & Bradstreet’s revenue in 2024 was $2.38 billion, a 2.9% increase compared with 2023 revenue. The company, which provides data and analytics for businesses, has more than 6,200 employees, according to regulatory filings. Clearlake has more than $90 billion in assets under management overall.


EDUCATION

  • Florida State College at Jacksonville has received a two-year $390,000 Gable Grant from the Lowe’s Foundation to bolster training for future electricians, construction professionals and HVAC techs. The funds also will help the college recruit instructors and pay for educational materials, spaces and equipment. The Lowe’s Foundation has invested $43 million in grants since 2023.

SPORTS

  • Patrick Zalupski, CEO of Jacksonville’s Dream Finders Homes, is the new majority owner of the Tampa Bay Rays after Major League Baseball approved his $1.7-billion purchase. Former owner Stu Sternberg bought the franchise in 2004 for $200 million.
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars are valued at $5.6 billion, a 22% increase compared with the previous year, according to Forbes. The team ranks 28th out of the 32 NFL teams for its value. The Jags had 2024 revenue of $552 million. The Jaguars are owned by businessman Shad Khan.

ACQUISITIONS

  • American Exchange Group of New York City has acquired Jacksonville-based Venus Fashion, a women’s swimwear and clothing company. Venus Fashion will remain in the area but will have new retail partnerships and will streamline its products to include seasonal collections. Venus has been in Jacksonville since 1984.

ARRIVING

  • The Anderson-DuBose Co. has opened its 120,000-sq.-ft. cold and dry foods storage facility in Jacksonville. The city of Jacksonville approved a $1.5-million incentive for the company to expand on approximately 40 acres. The company was slated to initially bring 85 jobs to the area but expand to more than 100 jobs by 2028.
  • Sysco International Food Group has purchased vacant industrial land in Jacksonville and plans a $90-million food distribution warehouse there. The company received $2.5 million in incentives from the city for its planned expansion.

REAL ESTATE

  • BTI Partners bought 3,200 acres near Green Cove Springs for $93 million to develop a planned community that will include housing, neighborhood communities, parks, trails and schools. The community will be located beside BTI’s existing Laurelton planned community.
  • Regency Centers of Jacksonville will relocate its headquarters from downtown to The Village at Seven Pines, a retail development that the company owns. The move is scheduled to take place in 2028. Its new location will be anchored with a Publix supermarket.

MARKETS

  • A new Lotte Plaza Market, a chain specializing in Asian products, has opened near Southside in Jacksonville. In addition to groceries, meat and seafood, the 46,000-sq.-ft. market includes a food court. Lotte has two other Florida locations in Orlando and Tampa. It now has 17 locations around the U.S.

YMCA

  • Eric Mann, CEO of the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast, will retire next summer. He has been head of the area’s YMCA for 14 years and has spent 45 years with the YMCA system nationally.

UF’s New Leader

Dr. Donald W. Landry has been named interim president of the University of Florida. He is chair emeritus of the Department of Medicine at Columbia University in New York City. He is a physician-scientist.


In Concert

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall has reopened after a $12.9-million renovation that began in May of last year. The renovation includes upgrades to its infrastructure, amenities, concessions, lighting and sound. The venue has 615 seats and plans to host up to 180 concerts a year. The concert hall operates under a public-private collaboration, with the building owned by St. Johns County but operated by SJC Cultural Events, which also operates the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and produces the Sing Out Loud Festival and Fort Mose Jazz & Blues Series. After reopening, the first performer at the theater was bluegrass artist Dan Tyminski.
