Surgery Aid

Cardiovascular Sciences' new material prevents scar tissue.
University of Central Florida Technology Incubator client company Cardiovascular Sciences has developed a material that can be applied internally during surgery to prevent the formation of adhesive scar tissue, which can be painful and deter healing. The company is working with UCF's chemistry department and has created several prototypes through its initial phase of funded research. Executives say the initial results have exceeded their expectations. The product is now ready for testing in the veterinary field.
