After a career with Shutts & Bowen, Terry Vento joined signature contemporary art museum Pérez Art Museum Miami as its general counsel in 2015. For decades she gave the museum pro bono legal advice. Now as a legal department of one, she brings a collaborative approach to problem-solving. She offers guidance on intellectual property, risk management, and negotiating and drafting contracts with artists, galleries and donors. Vento led the museum’s yearlong re-accreditation. She knows art and museum law; she conducts training to help staff avoid potential legal issues. She works with outside pro bono legal counsel on trademarks for museum products. Vento always has been an ardent patron of the arts.
