Great deals for vacant Florida land owned by offshore investors have become a hot target for international conmen playing the real estate market to walk off with hundreds of thousands of dollars, leaving the buyer with no funds and no land. AARP warns Florida seniors to beware of unregulated slot machines
Florida seniors should be wary of gambling in unregulated and illegal casinos often known as “arcades,” “game rooms” or “internet cafes.” That’s according to AARP Florida, which partnered with the new Florida Gaming Control Commission on Monday to warn about these casinos’ dangers. Lake County to get new UCF Business Incubator-Eustis in August
Lake County is getting a business incubator once again, thanks to collaborative efforts between the University of Central Florida, the city of Eustis, Lake County government and Eustis-based commercial real estate broker Mega Properties LLC. The new UCF Business Incubator-Eustis location will open in August,after the county lost its previous business incubator. The first Lake County incubator, which opened in Leesburg in 2008 and was managed by UCF from 2009-2012, was taken over by the county after that and ultimately shuttered. In Clearwater, engineers build cockpit for Artemis moon mission
At a manufacturing plant off of highway U.S. 19 and Ulmerton Road, Honeywell Aerospace engineers are working toward NASA’s mission to return humans to the moon. This Clearwater lab is tasked with building controls for the cockpit and navigation software on the Orion spacecraft, the capsule which will hold the Artemis program astronauts. Central Florida drag show restaurant files lawsuit against state, DeSantis
A popular Orlando restaurant that regularly features drag shows filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday, less than a week after he signed a bill that targets drag performances. The lawsuit filed in Orlando federal court by the owner of Hamburger Mary’s Orlando claims the state is depriving the business of its First Amendment rights to free expression.
