Lourdes Solera, FAIA, of Miami, is the new president of AIA Florida. She is a third-generation owner at architecture, planning and interiors firm M.C. Harry Associates. "AIA Florida provides opportunities for mentorship, learning, leadership skills, advocacy and much more," Solera said. She is a Cuban who was raised in Panama and Mississippi, and a graduate of Mississippi State. "We are fortunate to have Lourdes' insightful leadership at this critical juncture in the practice of architecture in Florida," AIA Florida Executive Vice President/CEO Becky Magdaleno, CAE, said. "She is a tireless advocate for our membership." AIA Florida, the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects, represents more than 3,900 members.
