"We believe we’re the afterthoughts."

Adjunct instructors at Valencia College, who they say they’re treated as “afterthoughts” even though they teach about 40% of the institution’s courses, are slated to wrap up a four-year-long push to unionize this week.

Many of the nearly 1,300 part-time instructors at Valencia say they feel they’re underpaid, lack job security and aren’t given the resources they need to teach courses across the college.
