"I don’t think they can control what is sold in the store. They’d have to prove each item is obscene and that’s in the eye of the beholder. As a legal matter, if it’s zoned commercial, there’s not a lot to talk about."

A touch of decadence has arrived on Fort Lauderale’s Las Olas Boulevard in the form of a controversial sex shop in a hard-to-miss spot just a block from the beach.

News of the adult toy store opening up shop so close to an oceanfront landmark corner has left some in a tizzy, wondering how in the world such a thing could happen. The shock of it all has funneled through the neighborhood all the way to City Hall.

But the unhappy neighbors may have to live with it if the city determines everything is on the up and up.
