Issa Asad, the founder and CEO of Dania Beach-based Q Link Wireless, which employs 400, announced his plans to acquire Boost Mobile for as much as $3 billion.

The forced sale of Boost is one of the requirements the FCC has suggested in order for a $26 billion merger between Sprint and T-Mobile to go forward.

Mr. Asad’s Q Link Wireless already has more than 2 million customers through the federally-subsidized Lifeline program which provides data and voice service to low-income Americans. The addition of Boost Mobile could add as many as 8 million customers and likely bring hundreds of new jobs to the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
