Pensacola Startup Provides an Online Home for Vets

VetCV aims to be a must-have for veterans. VetCV, a startup launched by Niels K. Andersen in Pensacola, has developed a web application that allows veterans, their families and caregivers to store and share important documents like medical histories and other personal data. The site helps them search for jobs and job training and connect with vet-oriented resources. It also provides a place for veterans to tell their life stories.

The VetCV app can suggest therapies for veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury. The site’s job-related area uses artificial intelligence to suggest career paths for users.

The app is free. Users are required to create a personal online account to access it, says Andersen.

VetCV charges companies $25 for job postings. “Less than a month after its launch, VetCV has generated more than 150,000 job postings,” says Andersen, the firm’s CEO.

A former physician-recruiting executive at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Andersen also founded Kontactintelligence, which provides recruitment and retention tools for the health care industry and allows tracking and reporting activities on productivity, expenses and the status of job candidates.
