The truth about home insurance prices: Most Florida homeowners still seeing hikes

Data released by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation shows a majority of policyholders in the state are continuing to see costs rise for all-perils coverage of their single-family homes. In fact, among customers of the 90 residential property insurers regulated by the state, two-thirds were insured by companies that posted average premium increases between January and May, while only a third were insured by companies that posted decreases. Gas soars by double digits in Florida

Gas prices are on a yo-to string, dipping and rising from week to week. And now they are back up in Florida as the week begins. On Monday, Aug. 11, the cost of gas is up about 10 cents a gallon in Florida Several areas of Florida are still under $3 a gallon. North Florida remains the cheapest to get gas in the state. This Clearwater company aspires to be a multibillion-dollar crypto giant

A Clearwater company betting big on cryptocurrency scored another large deal with investors to buy more of the digital assets. Upexi Inc. struck an agreement with Alliance Global Partners for a $500 million equity line of credit to fund the expansion of its sizable portfolio of Solana, an increasingly popular alternative cryptocurrency. How Boca Raton residents are rallying in bid to stop redevelopment plan

A group of residents opposed to Boca Raton’s redevelopment plans are eager to have a say over what’s ultimately built in the city. If they had it their way, they’d put the kibosh on a proposal for nearly 1,000 residences and much more near the city’s Brightline station. The group, called Save Boca, is casting fresh attention on a form of civil dissent where enough signatures are gathered with the goal of changing a city’s rules.
