Where are people in Florida moving to in 2025?

Data reveals Floridians are moving to various cities across the U.S., particularly in Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Tennessee. While Florida's population is still growing, the pace has slowed, with some cities like Tampa and Miami experiencing declines. According to a Florida Chamber of Commerce report, seniors were still flocking to the state, while young adults began looking elsewhere for better and more affordable career and housing opportunities. Tourism revenue sees gains in Central Florida

Polk County, strategically located between Orlando and Tampa in Central Florida, has experienced a tourism boom in recent years. Between 2019 and 2024, tourism revenue and its economic impact nearly doubled in Polk County, which includes the cities of Lake Wales, Davenport, Lakeland, and Winter Haven. In 2024, Central Florida attracted more than 6.5 million visitors, generating an economic impact of $4.5 billion. More from Travelweek.

Michelin-recognized Miami pizzamaker was just named one of the best in the world

There are many talented pizza makers in Miami. But only one was just internationally recognized as one of the best 100 in the world. At the 2025 The Best Pizza Awards in Milan on June 25, Javier Ramirez, owner and chef at La Natural in Little River, was named one of the World’s Top Pizzaioli (pizza chefs), ranked 35 on a list of the top 100. St. Petersburg formally kills Rays stadium deal, approves Trop repair money

A year after the City Council approved a historic round of agreements inking an elusive stadium deal with the Tampa Bay Rays, the board formally declared the project dead on Thursday. Council members unanimously approved a two-page termination agreement on Thursday. Plans had included building a $1.3 billion stadium and a small village of condos, affordable housing, shops, restaurants and office space. More from the Tampa Bay Times.

Amazon’s $140 million Space Coast investment begins to pay off

The satellite train is starting to pick up steam for Amazon as its $140 million processing facility at Kennedy Space Center gears up to support multiple missions at a time. The company is deep into a time crunch to get half of the more than 3,236 satellites of its Project Kuiper constellation into space before next year. That’s part of its Federal Communications Commission license agreement that also calls for the full constellation to be in place by July 2029. More from the Orlando Sentinel.

Alecia defeats decades of heart failure with historic transplant at UF Health

Alecia Cosey came to, slumped over in the driver’s seat, to find her 16-year-old daughter crying and gripping the steering wheel. “Momma, are you OK?” Dayshai Cosey said. “Did your heart stop?” All Alecia remembers from that drive to church on April 5, 2015, are the heart palpitations she felt before blacking out.
