Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) has promoted Michael (Mike) Ryan to Assistant Sales Manager to assist with the Orlando-based geotechnical engineering company's expansion in its West Central and South Florida District. Ryan has been with UES for 11 years and, before his promotion, was a business development representative for the firm in Sarasota and St. Petersburg.

The Fiorentino Group (TFG) is pleased to announce that former FDOT Chief of Staff Shannan Schuessler has joined their team as principal in its Tallahassee office. In her new role, Schuessler will utilize her skills in legislative affairs and policy development to create strategies to assist TFG clients with transportation, business and economic development issues.

An attorney, Dennard has more than a decade of workforce and economic development experience. Awards were announced Jan. 27 at the International Economic Development Council Leadership Summit.

Following a national search for the first Executive Director of the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Adriana Quiñones will fill that position. Quiñones comes to the Peace River Gardens from Cape Fear Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville, NC, where she served as Director of Horticulture and Education and Executive Director.
The Broward County Chapter of the American Red Cross has appointed Scott Ford to its Board of Directors. Scott Ford is the VP for Development and Marketing at Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale. Previously, he served as the VP for Development with Advocate Charitable Foundation, in Illinois. Health care, the environment and community involvement are Ford's biggest passions.

Visit Florida announced the appointment of Dana Young as its new President and CEO. The announcement was made following a unanimous vote of the Visit Florida Board of Directors. Young, a sixth-generation Floridian, served in the Florida House from 2010 to 2016, rising to House Republican Leader. Most recently, she served as a senator for District 18 in Hillsborough County.
Sachs Media Group welcomes Cheryl Stopnick as SVP of Public Relations and Kathy Maiorana as SVP of Business Development & Strategy. For the past 11 years, Mr. Dawson was an attorney in the legal department of NextEra Energy, Inc., where he handled federal tax litigation for the company and its subsidiaries. He focuses on complex IRS controversy matters, representing corporations and individuals during audits and in the U.S. Tax Court.

The Florida Orchestra has named Mark Cantrell as its new president and CEO. While acting CEO of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Cantrell championed community building, grew fundraising and audience size, and erased the orchestra’s debt. In his new role, Cantrell is tasked with leading the Florida Orchestra--the state’s premier orchestra--into its next 50 years.
