The Animal Welfare League (AWL) of Charlotte County welcomes Tom LaGrasta as a new Board Member. LaGrasta, a retired police sergeant with 26 years of service in Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where he investigated animal cruelty cases, led the Citizens Police Academy, and secured more than $1M in public safety grants. LaGrasta is a lifelong rescue advocate and has raised six dogs and 18 cats.

She earned her degree from LECOM-Bradenton and completed residency at Broward Health. Dr. Baroudi will help guide AWL’s continued mission to rescue, protect, and advocate for the animals of Charlotte County.

Her years of service include leading neighborhood associations, supporting Alzheimer’s and veterans' organizations, and participating in city advisory roles.
