Stacie Schmerling, partner and division leader in Fort Lauderdale, is a child-injury specialist who serves as lead counsel in many of the cases involving youth from foster care, people with disabilities, civil rights, personal injury and child-welfare litigation. In one of Florida’s largest jury awards for a child welfare case, she represented the permanent guardian of a young girl who was awarded a $15 million verdict. Schmerling is a current supporter and former advisory board member of the nonprofit Florida’s Children First.
