In Fort Lauderdale, Mertella Burris is the agency’s director of the Economic Advocacy and Community Health (EACH). She oversees and supports the EACH group by hiring and training staff, supervising casework and leading community outreach to strengthen awareness. She is a tireless advocate who connects people to life-saving medical care, with her efforts rooted in compassion and advocacy that go beyond technical expertise. In the community, Burris serves as board vice chair (2021-2025) of the Taskforce to End Homelessness.
