In Miami, staff attorney Beatriz Schachter is director of advocacy, leading a team of attorneys who are expanding legal services for underserved communities. Generally, she provides life-changing legal support to vulnerable clients, including survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, in family and dependency court. In one case, she served as an attorney ad litem, providing stability and advocacy to more than 50 survivors. Schachter has served as a presenter for the Miami-Dade County Civics Academy, which offers free, county-sponsored classes.
