Up Front: Building on Florida Trend’s Future

The Publisher’s Column

FLORIDA TREND has several exciting things happening: From realigning internal positions within the organization to the hiring of new employees, we are focused on continued growth and expansion as we look to the years ahead.

In early December, FLORIDA TREND announced Connie Greenblatt would be adding to her responsibilities within the organization by taking over as director of marketing & audience development for the company. Connie has overseen FLORIDA TREND’s marketing and custom content division for the past two years, taking that department to new heights. In 2025 alone, Connie oversaw the annual direction, development and design of 25 independent custom content sections, as well as three annual publications for FLORIDA TREND. Prior to leading our marketing department, Connie helped lead and manage the organization’s audience development and circulation department, building strong brand loyalty with subscribers across the media company’s print, digital and video audiences.

Connie’s three decades of growth with FLORIDA TREND are nothing shy of impressive: Her focus, energy, mentorship, industry knowledge and continuous positive attitude have led to much of the significant growth that the company has seen over the years. Connie is a lifelong Floridian and a graduate of Florida State University.

In mid-December, FLORIDA TREND announced that Aimée Alexander, our longtime digital content specialist in FLORIDA TREND’s digital publishing department, would be moving her skills to the ranks of the marketing and audience development department as its marketing and special publications lead. Aimee, a graduate of USF’s School of Journalism, has helped grow FLORIDA TREND’s digital content and social media presence and has served as anchor of FLORIDA TREND’s weekly video newscast, FLORIDA TREND Business Beat.

At the end of December, Brian Hartz, an award-winning journalist, joined our editorial team as our newest associate editor. Brian brings with him two-plus decades of print and online news experience.

Brian began his journalism career as a copy editor at The Herald-Times in Bloomington, Ind. He later moved into the world of magazine editing at publications such as Boating New Zealand in Auckland, New Zealand; Southern Boating in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Bakers Journal in Simcoe, Ont.; and Douglas, a business magazine in Victoria, B.C. His most recent full-time journalism role was with the Business Observer in Sarasota, Fla., where he served as the paper’s Tampa Bay editor and features editor.

Brian earned his master’s degree in journalism from Indiana University School of Journalism and has a bachelor’s degree in communications from Manchester University.

As our growth and expansion continues, I look forward to sharing even more updates with you.
