Florida Atlantic University's College of Business is tailoring its MBA offerings for 2026 based on where business is headed — especially as artificial intelligence reshapes decision-making across industries. Through its executive education portfolio, FAU recently launched an MBA concentration in artificial intelligence, available to students in its online MBA, professional MBA and executive MBA programs.
The concentration layers four specialized AI courses on top of the MBA core, focusing on AI product development, business innovation, analytics and finance applications. The specialized track prepares students as AI reshapes jobs across industries and organizations at every level while continuing to emphasize communication skills and cultural awareness for global leadership.
AI isn't siloed at FAU. Students use advanced language models in global strategy simulations, apply AI tools in consulting and entrepreneurship projects, and learn to manage AI initiatives using low-code and no-code platforms. "We integrate artificial intelligence into the curriculum where it adds meaningful value and empowers students to use AI as a strategic resource," an FAU spokesperson told Florida Trend.
Faculty research is also shaping the MBA experience. Kevin Cox, Ph.D., is exploring entrepreneurship through acquistion, a growing pathway for MBAs to become owners by buying and transforming existing businesses as baby boomer founders retire. ETA challenges the assumption that entrepreneurship must begin from scratch, highlighting its practical relevance for today's students.
Meanwhile, a $4-million John Templeton Foundation grant is funding research on the politicization of business, offering MBA students exposure to ethical and strategic frameworks for real-world dilemmas. FAU is also expanding its Behavioral Insights Lab, giving MBA cohorts hands-on experience with experiments, simulations and data-driven decision making.
Career development remains central. Through frequent guest lectures and industry speaker series, "students expand their professional networks, explore career pathways, and gain a deeper understanding of the skills and experiences employers seek" — keeping FAU's MBA tightly connected to Florida's evolving business ecosystem.
