While temperatures plummet to record lows in Florida, soup sales at restaurants and grocery stores are skyrocketing.
Floridians attempting to warm up during this unseasonably cold winter are doing so with bowls of liquid comfort, according to those in the food industry.
Thomas Op’t Holt is the corporate culinary director at the restaurant Field of Greens, which has six locations in Palm Beach County with another four scheduled to open this year.
He said since the weather turned cooler, he has “100 percent” seen an uptick in soup sales.
