Jim Moran
Jim Moran, founder of auto distributor JM Family Enterprises in Deerfield Beach, died April 24 at age 88.

In 39 years, Moran built his business into Florida's second-biggest private company, with $11 billion in revenue and 4,500 employees. JM Family Enterprises' flagship company, Southeast Toyota Distributors, is the largest privately owned distributor of Toyotas in the world.

A billionaire philanthropist, Moran created the Jim Moran Foundation to help improve the quality of life for Florida youths and their families.

In 2005, Moran joined Henry Ford, Thomas Edison and Lee Iacocca among others in the Automotive Hall of Fame in Detroit.
